section 86 of Lakshadweep Panchayats Regulation, 1994 has been constituted
to make recommendations to the Administrator on
The determination of taxes, duties, tolls and fees which may be assigned to or
appropriated by the Panchayats, the
grants -in- aid to the Panchayats,
The measures needed to improve the financial position of the Panchayats, and
On any other matter referred to the Commission by the Administrator in the
interest of sound finance of Panchayats.

The Finance Commission constituted under Section 186 of the Andmans and
Nicbar Islands (Panchayat) regulation, 1994 for the Andmans is also the Finance
Commssion for the Union Territory of Lakshadweep
The Finance Commission after making thorough studies on the prevailing
conditions in the Union territory has submitted two reports to the
Administrator recommending various strategies to improve the over all
financial positions of the Panchayati Raj Bodies.
